The requirement
The problem this answered.
Fuze-height simulation needs a platform that can carry the payload, hold position accurately, and be trusted not to come down mid-trial — which is what drove six motors rather than four.
Constraints and operating environment: Defence trials; 10 kg MTOW, ~2 km operating range.

What we did.
A hexacopter UAV was developed for specialised defence-related applications, including fuze-height simulation. The six-motor configuration was selected for its increased payload capability and redundancy compared with a quadcopter configuration.
The platform was designed for a maximum take-off weight of 10 kg, an endurance of up to 40 minutes, and an operating range of approximately 2 km. Autonomous waypoint navigation, altitude hold, hover stabilisation, return-to-home, low-battery protection, and two-way encrypted communication were incorporated.
