Summary
Vebix Automation LLP is seeking a Technical Manager for Electronics to lead technical and business development across DRDO, the Indian Armed Forces, defence PSUs and government organisations. The role covers electronics, underwater systems, cable assemblies, electronic products and related solutions, and carries a customer requirement from the first conversation through compliance and tendering to trials and delivery.
Description
Vebix Automation LLP is a Pune-based MSME and DPIIT-recognised startup working in defence, industrial automation, embedded electronics, underwater systems, drones, robotics, data-acquisition systems, cable assemblies and indigenous product development.
The Technical Manager develops and maintains business relationships with DRDO, the Indian Armed Forces, defence PSUs, government organisations and other strategic customers; establishes what a customer's technical requirement actually is and identifies suitable products and solutions against it; and prepares and reviews technical offers, quotations, compliance statements and tender documentation. Government and defence tenders are identified and tracked from this desk, and the complete bidding process is supported from it.
The role is also where the customer and the work meet. It coordinates with OEMs, suppliers and customers on technical clarifications, product selection and delivery; provides technical support through pre-sales, demonstrations, trials and customer meetings; and works with the production and engineering teams on product development, testing and troubleshooting, including the supply of electronics, cable assemblies, connectors, underwater systems and defence-related products. Visits to defence establishments, government organisations, laboratories and customer sites are a regular part of it, as is keeping the record of enquiries, tenders, quotations and opportunities that the rest of the company works from.
Minimum qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical or a related discipline, or a Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related discipline.
- Eight to ten years of relevant experience, preferably in defence and government business, DRDO establishments, the Indian Armed Forces, defence PSUs, government organisations, electronics and defence product companies, or government tendering and procurement.
- Working knowledge of electronics and defence-related products.
- Understanding of government and defence tendering and procurement procedures.
- Ability to read technical specifications and prepare compliance documents.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer visits and business development.
Preferred qualifications
- Retired personnel from DRDO, the Armed Forces, government organisations and defence PSUs, particularly candidates with strong technical knowledge and familiarity with defence and government procurement procedures.
- The ability to deal independently with senior officers and technical staff.
- Negotiation, coordination and customer relationship management.
- Team management.
- Good computer skills, including MS Office and the preparation of technical documentation.
