Summary
Vebix Automation LLP is seeking a Mechanical Technician for the shop-floor work that turns drawings into hardware: mechanical assembly and fitting, fabrication and finishing, dimensional inspection, and the sealing and enclosure work that keeps underwater and defence products watertight. The role is open to diploma holders who are fresh graduates or have up to one year of experience, and to ITI candidates with two to three years.
Description
Vebix Automation LLP is a Pune-based MSME and DPIIT-recognised startup working in defence, industrial automation, embedded electronics, underwater systems, drones, robotics, data-acquisition systems, cable assemblies and indigenous product development.
The technician assembles and fits products, structures and equipment, and carries out the fabrication, drilling, tapping, cutting, grinding and finishing work on the machined, sheet-metal and fabricated components that go into them. Work is done from mechanical drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs, and checked with vernier callipers, micrometers and gauges.
The role installs mechanical components, fasteners, seals, bearings and cable glands; supports engineers through prototype development and product integration; and coordinates with machining and fabrication vendors when required. It also supports testing, field installation, maintenance and customer demonstrations, and keeps the tools, equipment, inspection records and assembly documentation in order. Workplace safety, quality and housekeeping procedures apply throughout.
Minimum qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related discipline, as a fresher or with up to one year of experience, or an ITI in Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Welder, Sheet Metal Worker or a related trade with two to three years of relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly and fabrication.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work from drawings, instructions and quality procedures.
- Willingness to travel to vendor and customer locations when required.
Preferred qualifications
- Basic understanding of machining, welding and sheet-metal processes.
- Sealing, waterproofing and the assembly of enclosures.
- Experience in defence, aerospace, robotics, drones, automation or underwater systems.
Preference will be given to candidates who can join at short notice.
